Make sure you replace your stock water pump with a Sinister Diesel “Welded” Water Pump to be sure you dont have any further issues. The factory water pump on the Duramax is known to slip on the shaft, and even more prone to slipping when more power is added. If either the impeller or gear slips, you will end up having major overheating issues, which could lead to very expensive repairs.
